In the past, local seafarers are said to have used the cave as a resting place and shelter during the monsoon season. Visitors can reach the cave by climbing the Naga staircase from Wat Ao Noi, a walk of about 5–10 minutes, with elevated views over Ao Prachuap along the way.
ถ้ำพระนอน เป็นถ้ำสำคัญภายในบริเวณวัดอ่าวน้อย ตำบลอ่าวน้อย อำเภอเมืองประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ภายในประดิษฐานพระพุทธไสยาสน์เก่าแก่ ซึ่งสันนิษฐานว่าสร้างขึ้นในสมัยอยุธยา มีอายุราว 300–500 ปี ในอดีตชาวเรือมักใช้ถ้ำแห่งนี้เป็นที่พักและหลบพายุฝนในช่วงมรสุม นักท่องเที่ยวสามารถเดินขึ้นจากวัดอ่าวน้อยตามบันไดพญานาค ใช้เวลาประมาณ 5–10 นาที และสามารถชมวิวอ่าวประจวบจากมุมสูงได้ระหว่างทาง
