HUA HIN, May 21, 2024: Destinations in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi provinces May soon be on the cards for many new Chinese Hong Kong tour groups.
Mr. Achawan Kongkanand (นายอาชวันต์ กงกะนันทน์), Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Prachuap Khiri Khan Office (ททท.สำนักงานประจวบฯ) on Tuesday (May 21) announced that TAT’s Hong Kong office brought 80 representatives from The Federation of Hong Kong Chinese Travel Agents (FHCTA), led by President Mr. Steve Lam and Perry Yui Pak Leung, Member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong Special Administration, to participate in the “Amazing Paradise Cha-Am – Hua Hin Phetchaburi & Prachuap Khiri Khan” event from May 19-23, 2024. The group, which traveled through Bangkok, Samut Songkhram (สมุทรสงคราม), Phetchaburi (เพชรบุรี), and Prachuap Khiri Khan (ประจวบคีรีขันธ์), aimed to explore tourism products and services in Thailand. The visit included a Table Top Sales event at the Loligo Resort Hua Hin, facilitating business networking between Hong Kong travel agents and 40 tourism operators from Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi.
This visit marked FHCTA’s first exploration of Thailand’s tourism offerings post-COVID-19. With over 600 members, FHCTA comprises travel businesses serving diverse customer groups, including FIT and MICE segments. The event provided a platform for local operators to present their tourism products and services to international partners, fostering potential growth in the Hong Kong tourist market.
This initiative aligns with government policies and efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and TAT to promote tourism in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi.
