BANGKOK, May 16, 2024: Thailand’s
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, General Patcharawat Wongsuwan (พล.ต.อ.พัชรวาท วงษ์สุวรรณ) has directed relevant agencies to expedite the development of several ecological-recreation projects in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi provinces.
Discussed during a “Lower Region 2 development” meeting, the projects include solar-powered water distribution systems in the two provinces, as well as development of recreational forest areas in Khao Tao (เขาเต่า) of Pak Nam Pran Subdistrict (ต.ปากน้ำปราณ) and Wang Pong Subdistrict (ต.วังก์พง) of Pranburi District (อ.ปราณบุรี) in Prachuap Khiri Khan, in addition to projects in Khao Daen and Khao Krathing (เขากระทิง) areas of Phetchaburi province.
Additionally, the Department of National Parks was tasked with addressing issues involving monkeys and wild elephants through rapid response teams.
