HUA HIN, May 20, 2024: Key tourism and education leaders in Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance Hua Hin’s bid to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).
The signing took place during the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Thai Federation of Provincial Tourism Associations (TFOPTA) at the Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza. Signatories included Mr. Anak Anurak (นายเอนก อนุรักษ์), President of TFOPTA; Mr. Chamnarn Srisawat (นายชำนาญ ศรีสวัสดิ์), President of the Tourism Council of Thailand; Associate Professor Dr. Udomwit Chaiyasakulkiat (รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. อุดมวิทย์ ไชยสกุลเกียรติ), President of Rajamangala University of Technology; Dr. Apitap Sae Khow (ดร.อภิเทพ แซ่โค้ว), Acting President of Stamford International University; Dr. Pornchanit Kaewnet (ดร.พรชณิตย์ แก้วเนตร), Vice President of Foreign Affairs and Customer Relations at Suan Dusit University, Hua Hin Education Center; Mr. Noppadol Nutcharoen (นายนพดล นุชเจริญ), Chief Advisor of the Hua Hin – Cha-Am Chefs Club; Ms. Bussaba Choksuchart (นางสาวบุษบา โชคสุชาติ), Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin; Ms. Wasana Srikanchana (นางวาสนา ศรีกาญจนา), President of the Hua Hin – Cha-Am Tourism Business Association; and Ms. Patcharee Sombattawikhun (นางสาวพัชรศรี สมบัติทวีคูณ), Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Tourism and Sports Representative.
The event, graced by Mr. Akarawich Thepasit (นายอัครวิชย์ เทพาสิต), Regional Director for Central Thailand from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Achawan Kongkanand (นายอาชวันต์ กงกะนันทน์), Director of TAT Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, included a panel discussion on the “Tourism Direction for 2024-2025” featuring representatives from the Hua Hin – Cha-Am Tourism Business Association, government agencies, and academic institutions.
The TFOPTA’s 2024 Annual General Meeting, hosted by the Hua Hin – Cha-Am Tourism Business Association, is a three-day event held from May 20-22 at the Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza and Siam Venezia Hua Hin. Over 500 participants from 125 associations nationwide attended, with activities planned to showcase local attractions and boost regional tourism connectivity.
