CHUMPHON: On May 31, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, police apprehended a murder suspect after he was tracked fleeing through Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Mr. Phurinat (นายภูริณัฐ), 27, from Bangkok, nicknamed in Thai media as the “Black-Hooded Man” is a suspect in the murder of Mr. Paisan (นายไพศาล), 54, whose body was found in a condominium in Nonthaburi Province (จ.นนทบุรี).
The suspect allegedly searched the victim’s property before fleeing the scene. Mr. Phurinat was arrested at a friend’s house in Chumphon Province (จ.ชุมพร) and is currently held at Mueang Chumphon Police Station (สภ.เมืองชุมพร). He faces charges of premeditated murder.
Prior reports indicated that CCTV footage captured the suspect in Pattaya, Chonburi Province (จ.ชลบุรี). He was then seen taking a taxi to Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province (จ.ประจวบศีรีขันธ์), before boarding a bus heading to the Pathomphorn Intersection in Chumphon Province. Police successfully tracked and apprehended him there.
After the crime, the suspect allegedly used the victim’s phone to purchase a 25-baht gold bar through a bank application and used the victim’s credit card to buy another 3-baht gold bar, totaling over one million baht in value.
