Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan: March 20, 2026 — Immigration officers detained and charged a Myanmar national accused of unlawfully collecting parking fees from motorists near a Prachuap train station railway-side lot.
According to Top News Thai report, The operation, carried out by officers from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Immigration Office (สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์) in coordination with the Provincial Employment Office (สำนักงานจัดหางานจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์), followed a tip-off from a ‘good Samaritan’.
Officials identified the suspect as Nin Ao Yee (นีนเอา ยี), 25, a Myanmar national, who was accused of unlawfully collecting parking fees of 20 baht per vehicle. Upon inspection, she was found to hold valid documentation and a legal work permit, but her registered occupation was listed as wholesale and retail labor, not parking management. Authorities determined that collecting parking fees constituted work outside the scope of her permitted employment, leading to charges under Thai labor law.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the offense and was taken into custody before being handed over to investigators at Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan Police Station (สถานีตำรวจภูธรเมืองประจวบคีรีขันธ์) for legal proceedings. Officials said further investigation would be conducted to determine whether a Thai employer was involved.
